Representatives of the Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund will take part in the international conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, which will be held in London on June 21-22, 2023.
– This event is symbolic for Ukraine. At the forum, the positions and further steps of the world’s leading democracies regarding the revival of Ukraine and its future will be formulated. Our Fund is related to the reconstruction process, so we need to be present in London these days to keep our finger on the pulse of events, – stressed the chair of URF Pavlo Kostyuk.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the London conference will be a continuation of the movement toward the great reconstruction of Ukraine, which was started a year ago in Lugano (Switzerland).
The goal of Ukraine, noted Shmyhal, is to mobilize as much international support as possible and establish mechanisms by which this aid will arrive in a timely and rhythmic manner. It is about both quick recovery and long-term reconstruction.
The president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will speak at the conference.
We will remind you that according to the latest estimate of the World Bank, 411 billion dollars are needed to restore Ukraine. Considering this amount, Western politicians and mass media call the reconstruction project of Ukraine one of the most ambitious and expensive since the Second World War.
