Ukraine’s need for overcoming the consequences of the war has increased to 411 billion US dollars (383 billion euros).

This is stated in the conclusions of the Second Rapid Damage and Recovery Needs Assessment of Ukraine, which was conducted by the Government of Ukraine, the World Bank Group, the European Commission, and the United Nations. It covers data from February 24, 2022, to February 24, 2023.

Analysts conclude that the loss of property and livelihoods has driven 7.1 million Ukrainians into poverty and nullified the country’s development progress over the past 15 years.

According to the report’s conclusions, the greatest needs are in the transport (22%), housing (17%), energy (11%), social (10%), and urban (7%) sectors of the economy, as well as the direction of liquidation of explosive objects (9%).

It is clear that this is only an initial analysis of losses, which does not take into account the state of the occupied territories. However, the opinion of the experts is a good basis for the implementation of restoration projects. The Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund thanks everyone who contributed to this painstaking work.
