According to the newspaper, during the two years of full-scale military aggression from February 24, 2024 to the present day:

  • almost 3,800 educational institutions have been completely destroyed;
  • 6.5 million Ukrainians left the country, and 3.7 million sought refuge in other regions;
  • 40% of the population of Ukraine depends on humanitarian aid;
  • according to the UN, approximately 10,000 civilians have been confirmed dead, including 560 children, and another 18,500 civilians have been injured.

The actual number of war victims is much higher, experts say. It is believed that up to 40,000 people could have died in Mariupol only.

“The bloody massacre must be put to an end, Russia must immediately withdraw its occupation troops from the territory of Ukraine,” said Pavlo Kostyuk, founder of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund. “I hope the U.S. Congress will soon vote on a bill to allocate $60 billion to help Ukraine, whose people are fighting for their freedom at the cost of their lives”.

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops, the leadership of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund adopted an appeal to U.S. lawmakers calling for the prompt provision of financial and military assistance to Ukraine.
